| Description | The University of Washington configured a vehicle and trailer as a sonde-launching unit (sonde receiver provided by U.S. Navy, sondes provided by U.S. Navy and NCAR/Research Applications Program, and launching personnel provided by U.S. Navy). The sonde unit was deployed at the S-Pol radar site on the Washington coast. Sondes were launched approximately every 3 h during IOPs, at the request of IMPROVE-1 PIs. |
