Data Platform NCAR S-Pol Radar
Description The NCAR S-band dual-polarized (S-Pol) radar was deployed in the lower western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, at a location with a clear view of the Willamette Valley to the west and the upslope precipitation zone to the east. It was used for long-range weather surveiallance and directing of aircraft into precipitation features, as well as measuring reflectivity, polarimetric, and Doppler velocity structures of precipitation features that developed in the study area.
