Data Platform | ETL Wind Profilers |
Description | NOAA/Environmental Technology Laboratory (NOAA/ETL) operated two vertical wind profiler sites [including a 915-MHz Wind Profiler, a Radio-Acoustic Sounding System (RASS), and surface meteorology instruments (temperature, pressure, humidity, winds, and precipitation)] during IMPROVE-2. The Newport, Oregon, site measured the upstream conditions of the onshore flow prior to interaction with the coastal mountain range. The McKenzie Bridge site (collocated with the ETL S-band Profiler) measured the conditions in the strong upslope region on the windward side of the Cascade Moutains. |
